Confessions of a Skinny Fat-Smoker (Continued)

Hi again! Several months ago I post a pledge to the people who love me, to myself and to my health that I would quit smoking and get back in shape. I then spent the months that followed smoking and eating junk food.  In all honesty, I stuck to my high-protein diet for a while, but candy is just so appealing that I can't resist it.

I never did finish reading Allen Carr's Easy Way.  It was my second time through the book and I just felt that the impact this time through was lacking, likely because I had already experienced the AHA moments when I read the book the first time.

Needless to say that when December rolled around, I was still smoking, still skinny-fat and still conflicted about wanting to smoke and hating every minute of it. The only difference was that I was a little bit older and much colder!

And then something crazy happened! Crazy at least to me as a confirmed long-term smoker.

I GOT SICK! I don't mean a litle sniffle of a cold - I mean SICK. And then, I just stopped.

I'm not going to get too far ahead of myself here, I quit eight days ago. I make not pretends about the fact that I could fall into the trap again if I'm not careful, but I haven't had a craving or desire to smoke since I had my last drag.

So far so good!

Once my lungs clear up a little bit, I'll get back on the cardio train. So I'll keep you posted and let you know where it goes from here.
